The shivering, the shivering. My fingers are cold and as I tuck my hair back behind my ear my cold fingers brush my face and I shiver.

I finished The Name of the Rose. Umberto Eco. One of my favorite movies. I don't have any Latin, which was less than helpful because there were Latin bits on almost every page. Not big bits, not plot integral or any such...but I want to know what they said. But really it would take a long time to translate and I have a library book. The Death of Socrates, I don't know anything about Socrates other than the obvious things. When I read of any person venerated to such the extent this author finds necessary for So-crates... in the introduction!...I tend to start out annoyed. "Socrates is, for many people of the twenty-first century, on of the most obvious "good guys" in history." And that's just one line, there's lots more...um, which people? Define good guys. Define history. I hope you're going to try harder than this in the actual book Ms. Emily Wilson, because right now I already want to pull your whole argument...essay...biography...whatever it is...I want to pull it apart.

I don't have the learning to do that, but I can get the learning and when I do! Watch out! I'll write a diary entry about it and that'll fix you!
