*-TOO MUCH INFORMATION

April 17, 2008 - 8:33 PM

I thought of a project. I spent precious money on it, not a lot, but not really needing to be spent. I'm hoping I can show it to my friends and they'll show it to their friends and people would want to buy something similar. It's a tarot board, for reading tarot in bed or in a chair so you can be comfy. I took a wooden lapboard (found at Hobby Lobby while searching for other stuff for Dexter and Dragon Baby), glued a small box with a sliding lid (also from Hobby Lobby) on the back and decorated it. The front of the lapboard, not the box. It didn't turn out quite as I'd liked it too...I should've painted the background white or beige or something before I put the design on. The design was a seven-point star (my favorite...sometimes called a fairy star...but that's not why it's my favorite, I just like seven) some vines and leaves and such, and these sort of dancing sprites I doodle a lot.

Then I'll make a spread cloth and a bag for the box. That's how it would come, box and board, decorated, with coordinating spread cloth and bag. Twenty-five dollars at least I could charge. Maybe thirty. Probably thirty. I could get away with forty when I get my designs down pat and looking better. Some better paint pens I need for sure.

If not, if people aren't interested...well, I have a tarot board to use. You could use it as a rune reading board or a meditation journal board or even a mini altar too: a tiny candle holder and candle, a tiny incense burner. A tiny bottle for water, a bowl for salt or earth or little stones. Put all that in the bag to keep them from rattling around. A set of tiny god and goddess figurines. Or just your patron god or goddess.

I always feel rediculous saying patron goddess. Patron means father. But matron sounds strange. Matron, that's the head of a girls reform school or something. All right then, personal gods. How's that?

I watched Across the Universe tonight, while I was making my board. I think I liked these new versions of the songs much better.

I actually completed a project. Do you have any idea how stunning it is that I completed a project? I'm kind of scared now, that no one will find it interesting and I'll have wasted money. Wasted money, wasted money, wasted money...ringing in my head. That was stupid, what were you thinking, nothing you do ever goes how you want so what are you wasting money for? All those designs...I have so many designs for different things, dish washing station for camping...collapsible. A collapsible wooden trash can, also for camping with lock down lid. A different portable altar design. I see them so clearly in my head, I make the drawings....designs for purses, clothes... But I don't have the money to invest. You have to be able to make prototypes. You have to work on the design until you get it right. That means failed efforts...money I can't afford to lose. It's disheartening.
