I had a weird up and down day.

Mr. GreyEyes came through the line today and had his venti Awake tea and a raspberry apricot thumbprint scone. As I handed him the bag he took it and said, "Are these really good today?"

"Oh yes. They're great. They're my favorite," I replied, which they're not but I was awestruck by the fact that he spoke to me with a faint smile on his face. He's the serious one, remember? He looked at me kind of funny and said bye and I gave him my best smile of course.

And I realized right after he pulled away and the window closed he had said, "Your hair looks really good today."

Oh my god he gave me a compliment and not only did I not acknowledge it I sounded like a complete ingratiating, corporate, brain-washed idiot.

Okay, next time he comes through I'm taking that damn headset off. I hope I haven't completely ruined my chances to flirt with him.

Oh, here's a strange thing. Yesterday, three customers in a row had the total of 5.55. Awesome.
